Oil Painting
|
After majoring in piano performance and teaching piano for
nearly 50 years, I took up art and was a founding member of the
Passageway Gallery. I love to paint in oils and the subject
matter has to move me or remind me of something in my past or
I'm not interested in painting it. Therefore, I don't turn out
volumes of work just for the sake of producing more and I don't
take commissions.
I love
to take photographs of interesting people walking away from me
and use them in a painting later. I also love food, so that is
incorporated in my still lifes. I guess that's why I married an
Italian.....from the country of music, art and food....my three
passions in life...not excluding my husband and ten
grandchildren. I do a lot of volunteer work for breast cancer
and Essential Pregnancy Services.
I've
traveled the world to Italy, Sicily, Turkey, Greece, Lithuania,
Denmark, Mexico, Caribbean islands and the former Yugoslavia,
taking many photographs to use in future paintings.
My
"Piano Bouquet" painting (pictured) was featured on the cover of
"Clavier" magazine, a pianist's magazine. I hope you enjoy my
work and it touches you in some way. |
